This short sci-fi story is old. It was written in 1938. It won the retroactive Hugo Award for best short story in 1939.

IMHO - It lacks the showiness and polish of modern day science fiction. However it possesses the comfort of a favorite robe or pair of slippers. It also appears to be a fantastic behind the scenes peek into the ‘sky is the limit’ viewpoint around space exploration at the time.

The structure / cadence of the language is old and very British. I love all these things about this book.

The likelihood of the plot aside, a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Love the tongue in cheek British Humor
