Whether you have lost a child, spouse, parent, pet, or other loved one, it can feel devastating. I have been there, and I know it can be overwhelming at times. You may feel that it's difficult to get the kind of support you are looking for. Perhaps you are even blaming yourself. As we grieve our losses, negative thoughts can enter our minds during such a vulnerable time. Handling grief the wrong way can lead to further problems that affect ourselves and the people around us. You may feel shocked, angry, or extremely sad. This book can help you deal with those powerful emotions.

It will cover:
•How to identify the difference between grief and depression
•How to acknowledge your emotional pain
•How to not lose hope
•How to manage your expectations during the grieving process, so that you stay in control emotionally
•How to deal with emotional triggers

Loss may be a part of life, but overwhelming grief shouldn't have to be.

I really did not care for this book. They said things like “some people might grieve for one day where it might take you a couple weeks.” Or “set a time limit on crying. If you want to cry, tell yourself, I already cried my allotted 10 minutes yesterday. I will wait until my allotted time tonight.” WHAT? I’ve never heard worse. I accidentally bought the book and am so sorry I did. This goes against every other book I’ve read, what my therapist says, and what the grief groups have said.

Old school boomer type advice

Very childish look at grief. Likens it to the stock market. It’s evident the author has never lost a loved one. No help what so ever.

Treats grief like having one bad day.

I don’t think this writer has ever lost anyone close. Very cold naive thoughts about death, grief and depression. We are only supposed to grieve for two weeks then be done with it. Schedule your time to feel bad and cry to ten minutes, and again be done for that time period. Since when are matters of the heart able to be it on a schedule?

You can’t schedule grief, or put a time limit on it!
