Turn disagreements and conflicts into opportunities for growth, compassion, and reconciliation.

The sixth book in the bestselling Mindfulness Essentials series, a back-to-basics collection from world-renowned Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh that introduces everyone to the essentials of mindfulness practice.

Nhat Hanh brings his signature clarity, compassion, and humor to the ways we act out in anger, frustration, despair, and delusion. In brief meditations Thich Nhat Hanh instructs us exactly how to transform our craving and confusion. If we learn to take good care of our suffering, we can help others do the same, and reach reconciliation between family members, coworkers, and even nations.

This book drills right into the heart of dealing with our anger and bitterness towards those who have hurt us. Most of all , it addresses what we can do about it inside ourselves. I would not call this book a book for a novice, spiritual person. The practices at least to me, feel advanced. They are not easy. They are very real. Thich Nhat Hanh is one of those people that make me wonder where they came from. He reminds me that there are the most remarkable people in the world who seem to defy all odds. At the end of the book, I thought to myself, what would the world be like if we taught these lessons to very young people? Incredible is all that comes to mind. A young person who can master these skills could probably live pretty much whatever kind of life they wanted to live.
