While investigating the deaths of multiple students at a boot-camp style institution, Malice and Ruri become trapped in the mysterious Kingdom of Flower and Bone - a netherworld filled with both magical and malignant beings. But which is which?

Even ancient forces aren't immune to petty squabbles. Will the pair make it out alive?

Mary Alice Nolan, code-named "Malice", is a Hunter: genetically modified and rigorously trained to track and kill supranormals ("supras") such as werewolves, vampires, and demons. Seeking revenge after her sister is malevolently "turned" into a werewolf, the last thing the hot-tempered Malice expected was to develop deep desires for one of her sworn enemies.

Ruri Samson is a magnificent golden-eyed wolven without a pack. Smart, sensitive, and loyal, she considers Malice her mate. Ruri would sacrifice her own life to protect her - and this time she just may have to.

I need to know more about Cassidy and there wasn’t enough time to enjoy Ruri and Malice’s full bond. ;(

I demand a sequelllll

I really loved the story, it is hard to find great sapphic urban fantasy stories. But the narrator didn’t do it for me. Her normal narration voice is great- but her voices for the two main characters are annoying. They almost sound stereotypical. I would love to see this done as a dramatic adaptation.

Great story, but the narrator needs work.

I understand that a third book will probably be written but that ending was too abrupt. As other reviews mentioned it did get a bit long in some areas which I wouldn't have minded if it weren't for the ending. To clarify, it wasn't bad but it just ends. More like you starting talking to someone about your day at work but then just suddenly stop talking midsentence when you're leading up to saying how you spilled coffee on your boss then fell into the fake fern.

How can it end like that?!

I loved this new world! I really hope that there will be a third book so we can learn what is happening with Cassidy.

Amazing

Book two is a little bit different than book one, but just as good. This time it takes place in an alternate world that one needs to use portals. But as we know, things are a little different when you get into the lands of the Fae. Rori may have to hide her wolf while there, which makes her feel unwhole. It does comes in quite handy having a wolf even if dormant, as the Fae cannot mess with her mind. Also, there is a different take on Sealy and Unsealy. It took Malice long enough to admit that Rori is her mate. But thank goodness she finally did and it connected the mate bound both ways.

Another winner
