For anyone who wants to start meditating but has been struggling to get to the cushion, here are all the motivation and tools you need to achieve greater balance, better health and a more panoramic perspective of life.

Hurry Up and Meditate has been written for people in a hurry and its message is simple: meditation will help you combat stress, cultivate happiness, enhance your performance, realise your goals and attain mastery of your mental, emotional and material destiny.

If meditation was available in capsule form, it would be the biggest-selling drug of all time. It has been scientifically proven to deliver highly effective stress relief, boost our immune systems and dramatically slow the aging process. It has also been shown to make us much happier and more effective thinkers. Given all the physical and psychological benefits, why aren't more of us doing it?

In his thought-provoking and entertaining book, David Michie explains the nuts and bolts of meditation. As a busy professional, as well as long-term meditator, he also gives a first-hand account of how to integrate this transformational practice into everyday life. Combining leading edge science with timeless wisdom, Hurry Up and Meditate provides all the motivation and tools you need to achieve greater balance, better health and a more panoramic perspective on life.

"An ideal introductory text for anyone interested in, but slightly wary of, meditation. I only wish he'd hurried up and written it years ago." (Nigel Marsh, author of Fat, 40 and Fired).

I've learned so much from this book, and I have also sent this book to one of my friends who was interested in learning to meditate. I sent it to her through onebook. I hope that my friend will get as much as I have.

Great Book

The music at the beginning overrides the narrator but it only lasts about four and a half minutes.
I found this book to be a wonderfully simple introduction to meditation and even one I will review again in the future.

Brilliantly simple introduction to meditation

I thoroughly enjoyed the contents and the narration of this book . It would be far more useful as a meditation guide if the chapters of the book were properly divided in the audio rather than grouped together in 4 sections. The author regularly refers the listener back to a previous chapter which isn't easily accessible in the audio's present form.

This book reconfirmed why I need to return to my meditation practice. Thank you. 🙏🏻
I loved the narrator’s voice too. I felt like I was listening to my favourite teacher.

Straight to the point.

I really learned a lot and hope to put this message to practice. I've tried to read and listen to other meditation. Oils but found this one approachable. He gave so many examples and made it clear that we can be better with mindful meditation. He also made it clear that there are lots of choices. You just have to get started.

About the most approachable book on meditation I've read!
