Beautiful story with a really great narrator. I’ve traveled in this area-this story took me back there.

Beautiful story

The narrator’s voice paired well with the subject matter, with a methodical approach to a young vicar deep in Northwest native society. While it was difficult to get past the use of Indian at first, it became one of many elements setting the historical tone. I enjoyed immersing myself into this story, and the ending suited the tone.

It was great to see that a recommendation to Audible resulted in this story's addition to the Audible collection. This is a beautiful book which is, on the one hand, a meditation on faith and the clash of cultures, and on the other, a suspenseful and a painful testament to history whereby a First Nations people tries to hold on to the old ways in the face of the inevitable advancement of modern life and culture.

I remember while driving home from a family vacation hanging on to every word as the story reached its conclusion. My hope being that we wouldn't reach our destination before the story ended. I highly recommend this book with its terrific narration. It draws you into the world and characters with compassion and simplicity.

Fantastic listening experience

I love this story.
It has given me a desire to treat others with a grace and respect beyond my previous understanding. What the characters said was very engaging. The author also made me aware of the importance of what the individuals refrained from saying or doing.
I thank the author for her inspired ability to teach while rendering an entertaining and beautifully written book. You will be better for having read it.

Uncanny insight...
