Tucker Max graduated with high honors from the University of Chicago in 1998 and received an academic scholarship to Duke Law School, where he graduated in 2001, despite the fact that he spent part of one semester--while still enrolled in classes--living in Cancun. He took these degrees and set out to help the world--by drinking, hooking up, acting like an jerk, and then writing about it. The result, I HOPE THEY SERVE BEER IN HELL, is a collection of first-person tales of sex, alcohol, and mayhem that transport the reader into Tucker's comical, perverse, and oftentimes surreal world. Tucker will admit that many of his antics are completely juvenile and without excuse, but he approaches the stories of his life with brutal honesty, sparing no one, especially not himself.©2006 by Tucker Max; (P)2006 Random House, Inc. The funniest book I have ever heard and even better to listen than to read. Great work Tucker!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I did recognize the type of person I do not want to be by listening to this book.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Most interesting - that men like him are not afraid to admit to their behaviors. The least interesting is the opinion that Tucker Max has of himself.

Would you be willing to try another one of Tucker Max’s performances?

Only to see if he has grown or has changed his ideas of women.

Do you think I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

It needs an apology for his behavior to all the people he insulted in this book.

Any additional comments?

Listening to this book reminded me of listening to my little brother and his friends when they would sit in the basement smoking pot and telling stories. I could have sworn it was them.

A perfect book for jerks

The description of the book is up front and accurate. If you think you might be offended then don't read the book because you certainly will! I wanted something easy, funny and fast to read between longer and more serious books. I got what I expected. If you separate yourself from your personal feelings toward a person like Tucker Max, you will laugh yourself silly. Lots of frat boy humor.

As expected
