Everything is falling apart in psychologist Tig Monahan's life. Her mother's dementia is wearing her out, her boyfriend takes off for Hawaii without her, and her sister inexplicably disappears, leaving her newborn behind.

When a therapy session goes horribly wrong, Tig finds herself unemployed and part of the sandwich generation trying to take care of everyone and failing miserably. Just when she thinks she can redefine herself on the radio as an arbiter of fairness, she discovers a family secret that nobody saw coming.

It will take everything plus a sense of humor to see her way clear to a better life, but none of that will happen if she can't let go of her past.

Nice story once you get past the fact that in 2017 (when it was written) any psychologist should have known more about dealing with an Alzheimer's patient, even if it is your own mother. Hated the ambiguous ending that seemed like a cop-out.

Nicely written and characters were great! The scenes were so realistic and the metaphors made me laugh out loud. Many real feeling touching moments too. Hope we hear from Tig again.

Fun funny book

So overall it was an engaging book and kept me wanting more however the flip flop of the lead was nerve wrecking which also pulled me in. The character reminded me of friends in my life that can offer no nonsense advice yet go down a rabbit hole when choices have to be made in their lives. This story was relatable and more importantly believeable.

I had a love hate relationship with the lead character!

The protagonist learned what was important to her and had a smooth breakup with someone she could be happy with “only from a great distance.” Once she accomplished that, she was ready to move out of the nursing home and create a happy life for herself. (You will have to read the book to find out why a healthy young woman moved into a nursing home)
