In the closing months of 2017, I decided to make a dramatic shift in my life and pursue a goal I'd had for over a decade. I was going to hike the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine the following spring. Upon my return, I decided to write a book to better reflect, reminisce, and hopefully archive my experience to remember for years to come. This book is the result of over 2,200 miles of hiking across 14 states in 140 days within some of the most beautiful forests the United States has to offer. This book serves as my trail journal in an attempt to introduce some of the most amazing people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, revive amazing experiences, and paint a picture for those who crave adventure. Many dream of undertaking a "thru-hike" of the Appalachian trail, fewer are brave enough to take the leap and attempt one, and even less manage to finish it. The daily trails God and Country throw at a hiker can break even the strongest of spirits but those that endure emerge on the other side eternally changed. I invite you to spare a few moments to walk a few steps with me on the trail. Outdoors & Nature Hiking

I really enjoyed how this was written and was raw with emotion. Calls out all the funny moments. Ignore the AI

Well written, witty and personal

I thought this was a good representation of what it must be like to hike the Appalachian Trail. It was well-written and kept my interest. The computer generated voice wasn’t terrible, but there were some obvious and annoying mistakes made repeatedly about the miles covered (calling it “halves”) and interpreting the author’s notations about one location to the next as “greater than” for each chapter. I don’t know how it works when choosing to use a computer generated voice, but I would think this could have been fixed if the author had listened to his own book.

Good AT story

This was a great listen. I hiked the AT completely finish in 2024. It brought back great memories of the Trail.

This is my favorite hiking story thus far. I wish there were a dozen more from this this author.

Author's love and respect for wildlife.

For the mist part this was a fun listen. My only real problem was how he was keeping track of miles because he was adding some extra stuff to them that was confusing. Wish he just kept it to just the miles he did. The only other disappointed thing was the abrupt ending. It might have been nice to nice to see how he was doing a couple of months later. But it was a fun book to listen to.
