Meet Lily Wilder: New Yorker, lawyer extraordinaire, blushing bride. And totally incapable of being faithful to one man.

Lily’s fiancé Will is a brilliant, handsome archaeologist. Lily is sassy, impulsive, fond of a good drink (or five) and has no business getting married. Lily likes Will, but does she love him? Will loves Lily, but does he know her? As the wedding approaches, Lily’s nights—and mornings, and afternoons—of booze, laughter and questionable decisions become a growing reminder that the happiest day of her life might turn out to be her worst mistake yet.

Unapologetically sexy with the ribald humor of Bridesmaids, this joyously provocative debut introduces a self-assured protagonist you won’t soon forget.

I agree that this Audible book is "wickedly funny " and kept me listening in. The narrator does a fabulous job using slight character voice changes without falling into over the top drama. The problem is that Lily is not a very sympathetic character. Her hedonism and self absorption left me wondering why the other characters are so unquestioningly devoted to her. Yes, she made me laugh but I didn't like her. The main character need not be a good person but it helps if the reader ( listener) finds her redeemable enough to be on her side.

A heroine who is difficult to like.

I loved how this book delves into the other side of relationships and discusses what most people find appalling and do not discuss! I think everyone should read this book to see a different perspective! I loved it! It helped me understand things in my relationship!

Completely different, and I loved it!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I kept waiting for the main character of the book to come to her senses but then I realized, this was a book about narcissists. The only person who seems to have had some sort of epiphany about bad behavior shows up towards the end. I only liked the main character during a single courtroom and that was because the opposing attorney was more of an ass than she was!

Has I Take You turned you off from other books in this genre?

No. I believe in chick lit!

What does Julia Whelan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She is why I got this book. I have loved her narrations of other more enjoyable books. She is just fab.

Do you think I Take You needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I hope not. Why would anyone care about these awful people?

Unredeeming characters!!

This book is definitely not what I was expecting, lily is a wild girl ever since she was born, growing up in a small town in the Florida keys, and getting I trouble with her best friend teddy, after one of there dumb ideas went terrible wrong, teddy was sent to Juve, and lily moved away, and then they lost touch, now lily is back in town and she's getting married, to will, an architect, lily has been unfaithful but she can't seem to help herself, she wants to change but she loves sex, and when there's only two days left before she gets married her fiancé has a confession, and the wedding is at a stand point. Until they finally decided on if they should get married or not.

Love it
