In addressing this subject, we do not in any way wish to criticize or cause harm to many of our brothers and sisters in Christ who differ from us on this hot spot of their religious conviction. Their desire to capture the omnipotence of God to live a holy life must be honored. The time they spend fasting and praying, singing the glory of God, testifies to their love and zeal for God and His service. However, by reading the Holy Scriptures, one will see that one can be very sincere and still err in one's doctrine.
Many churches are being destroyed and destroying the faithful for lack of knowledge. In this sense, the words of scripture are still true and they always will be:
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. (Hosee 4:6)
“I would rather speak five words with my understanding, to instruct others, than ten thousand words in tongues” (1 Cor 14:19)
“If therefore, in a congregation of the whole church, all speak in tongues, and there come in men of the common people or unbelievers, will they not say that you are mad? (1 Cor 14:23)
The subject of speaking in tongues is worth examining and studying because it is in the Bible. The Bible has the answer to many of our questions on this subject: Do we need to speak in tongues to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit? Should we seek to speak in tongues? Is speaking in tongues for today? And several other questions on which we will shed light. Let's find out together through the Bible if speaking in tongues is for today.
