Ichabod

A killer like no other. A monster with undeniable logic on his side. Stephen Van Tassel has one advantage over his fellow detectives: he remembers absolutely everything. Because he hears colors, sees sounds and tastes facts, he perceives connections between everything. This makes him the only one able to see Ichabod for what he is: the most dangerous man alive. 'Ichabod’ possesses none of the usual serial killer weaknesses. He alters his signature and MO, making him untraceable. He displays no discernible patterns in his victim selection or killing methods. He leaves no clues except those which point to other culprits. In the steam heat of an urban summer the body-count rises, until serial killer becomes mass murderer, becomes terrorist, inciting gang wars and civil unrest. As Stephen hunts this perfect killing machine, he learns what drives Ichabod: an obsession with the Malthusian Theory of Population, which states: a nation’s food supply cannot compete with its increase in population, making a decrease in population the only sane solution. Could this monster’s unholy belief be right? Could his efforts to decrease the population actually lower crime rates and wipe out hunger and poverty? If they do, should Stephen try to stop him?
