One of the most fascinating things about the Bible, is the typology contained in scripture. Stories such as Abraham and Isaac take on a new dimension when we consider the elements of the story that correspond to the crucifixion of Christ. For example, Abraham had one son. God had one begotten Son. Abraham took his son up a hill to be sacrificed. On this day the son carried the wood required to make the sacrifice. We see a parallel in that God saw to it through providence, that his son would thousands of years later, ascend a hill in order to be a sacrifice. On this day he would carry the wooden means of his sacrifice.
This is one of the many types, or what is referred to as shadows in scripture. But, there are also shadows of spiritual principals that exist in nature. Jesus chose to speak of such things as Ravens when teaching on the provision of God. It is following this train of thought that the renowned Jonathan Edwards took up his pen to record the shadows and types that are found in nature.
Until now, should you want to read this little known work, it would be a struggle to find the obscure book. But now we are making it accessible to everyone.
I hope you are blessed in reading:
