I’d been avoiding this book for a while because based on the summary I just couldn’t imagine it being even a small fraction as intriguing as the others in the series thus far. Chapter 1 started with Molly finding herself in the middle of nothing like any of the previous books and I started looking forward to seeing how that would pan out. Chapter 4 introduced the mystery I initially thought would be dull and disinteresting along with some new complications in her relationships. Chapter 5 surprised me with a mystery within a mystery that hooked me!

I am always wary about series with characters I enjoy becoming stale a few books in because there’s nothing left to write about. I’m so glad that so far this book/series has proven to be nothing of the sort. While there was one event in the ongoing plot that disappointed me, the array of new characters introduced, multiple mysteries, and more adventure with an adept, exciting, and plucky heroine may have made this my favorite installment yet!

May be my favorite yet

If you could sum up In Like Flynn in three words, what would they be?

This book takes you out of New York City and into the upper class lifestyle as Molly goes undercover once again! It is suspenseful and well worth the read. However, the audio does some strange things, at times another story seems to pop into this one you don't seem to miss any important information but it is very surprising. I believe it is just an editing error but it is too bad .I Hope you enjoy this suspenseful and at times chilling story.

Wonderful Molly Adventure!

In this gripping installment of the Molly Murphy series, our heroine takes on a challenging undercover role for the NYPD, despite her complicated history with Police Captain Daniel Sullivan. Tasked with exposing spiritualist sisters as frauds, Molly goes undercover at the lavish Hudson River estate of Senator Barney Flynn, whose wife seeks closure for their son’s sensational kidnapping and presumed death. What begins as a straightforward mission to unveil a scam takes a turn after a chilling séance, leading Molly to doubt the sisters' deceit and question the competence of the police handling of the kidnapping case.

As Molly delves deeper, she not only confronts escalating dangers but also grapples with her own emerging psychic suspicions, suggesting that murder might be on the horizon. This novel masterfully combines historical intrigue, a complex mystery, and the evolving personal story of Molly, who navigates the professional hazards of being a female private investigator in a male-dominated field with courage and wit. The stakes are high, the characters are richly developed, and the suspense builds to a dramatic conclusion that leaves readers eager for more of Molly Murphy’s adventures.

I really enjoyed the story and all the historical detail. I didn’t like what happened at the end with Molly and Daniel of course. But 95% of the book I really liked.

Another great Molly mystery
