As a member of the Field County Sheriff's Department, Chris Jennings is used to having it rough. The Colorado Rockies aren't for the weak-of-spirit, but he's devoted his life to upholding the law - and to protecting the one woman he knows he can never have. He'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

Daisy Little has lived in agoraphobic terror for over eight years. Trapped within a prison of her own making, she watches time pass through her bedroom window. Daisy knows she'll never be a part of the world...until the day she becomes the sole witness of a terrible crime that may finally tear the Search and Rescue brotherhood apart for good.

This is an absolutely amazing series! Loved how each book had its own bit of suspense, but that they were all related and leading up to solving the larger mystery. Also, any book that can still hook you even though you know the identity of the culprit is a great one!

Great series!!!

I’ve listened to several Katie Ruggle’s books and I think I enjoyed this one the most. The story line was different than most hero books and little one liners thrown in between the main characters brought some wittiness.

Different story line for a nice change

Liked that the story attempted to address a character who has agoraphobia. I don't like how Daisy just decided to stop being agoraphobic and set up steps that went extremely quickly. It's not quite like that in real life of course and when books, movies and television shows distort timeframes for dealing with healing/recovering, it perpetuates that there person can easily change.
Otherwise, as always with Ms. Ruggle's series stories, the cast of ongoing characters is wonderful. Daisy is a very lovable character that the community welcomed as they begin to know her after she starts integrating with them. Chris's change in character from being viewed as a possible villain to gossiping police officer w/ kind heart to now a tight-lipped officer w/ huge loving and very loyal heart is quite a trip. We all have many faces that we present in life therefore this is workable.
The suspense really is how the sheriff is caught since the beginning of the book started with his inner dialogue of what he's done. Plus there's the teen across the street, does he play a role? Does the sheriff's soon play a role? Is anyone else involved? This becomes the suspense of this book and how it all plays out of course!
This story a solid finish to this series.

Interesting story about agoraphobia

I've read all the other in this series and this was just as good as the others. All the other characters came back in this one to solve who killed Willard Grey. I hope the author starts another series for me to listen.
