I can't be objective

Julia Wolf can do no wrong at this point so take my review with a grain of salt. I will say though, Jake is in the running for #1 Book Boyfriend. God, he's fabulous.

Great Story

Loved the story. The narrator’s did a great job bringing the characters to life. Loved the sweet and spicy combo and the love of the characters. My first Julia Wolf book and I will definitely read more. Her character development was wonderful!

This Book!

Julia Wolf masterfully gives a great balance of angst and a beautiful love story. The way she took two broken and emotionally stunted characters and weaved their happily ever after was miraculous!

Steamy, Unexpected Love ❤️

Jake and Clara have known each other for a while away from their normal, everyday lives, without even full names. Then they are surprised one day to run into each other in a very unexpected place. This leads to a change in their existing 'arrangement' as they begin dating and pursuing an actual relationship. They both have to work their unfortunate pasts, Clara's being much more dramatic, and they also have to balance this with their jobs and being single parents. The strong chemistry that Jake and Clara had in the beginning turns to sizzling! 🔥 I enjoyed reading about their relationship, and the obstacles they faced, but I really loved the extra component of introducing their adorable kids into the dynamic. And could Nellie be any cuter?!

James Cassidy and Avery Reid are both newer narrators to me, and I've been missing a really good thing! Trust me, listen to them now. 🙂 James Cassidy has a comforting voice for Jake which also turns sexy or even commanding at times when talking to Clara, or compassionate when talking to his daughter. And I melted every time he calls Clara 'Mama', something about the way he says it. 🥵 Avery Reid has the perfect voice for Clara, a confident businesswoman but also a sensitive and soothing Mom for the kids. And her voice for 3 year old Nellie is absolutely perfect! Both are them brought so much to the story and made me want to keep listening!

The perfect balance of sweet and spice!

This is my first Julia Wolf novel, as well as my first James Cassidy listen! They have both gone into the “immediately listen” category. ❤️❤️The story was just a perfect balance of all the goodness - spice, sweetness, drama, and a little heartbreak. The narrators did a phenomenal job telling this story!! I cannot wait for book two!
