From New York Times best-selling author Jonathan Maberry comes a standalone supernatural thriller, Ink, about a memory thief who feeds on the most precious of dreams.

Tattoo artist Patty Cakes has her dead daughter’s face tattooed on the back of her hand. Day by day, it begins to fade, taking with it all of Patty’s memories of her daughter. All she’s left with is the certain knowledge she has forgotten her lost child. The awareness of that loss is tearing her apart.

Monk Addison is a private investigator whose skin is covered with the tattooed faces of murder victims. He is a predator who hunts for killers, and the ghosts of all of those dead people haunt his life. Some of those faces have begun to fade, too, destroying the very souls of the dead.

All through the town of Pine Deep, people are having their most precious memories stolen. The monster seems to target the lonely, the disenfranchised, the people who need memories to anchor them to this world.

Something is out there. Something cruel and evil is feeding on the memories, erasing them from the hearts and minds of people like Patty and Monk and others.

Ink is the story of a few lonely, damaged people hunting for a memory thief. When all you have are memories, there is no greater horror than forgetting.

i love Maberry, but this is my least favorite book he has written. The action and the story were great, however the explicit sexual scenes could have been left out all together. they seemed forced and.... gross? on audiobook, around my family at times, it was impossible to listen

Great narration, odd story

Jonathan Maberry is a bear of a man. I am a bear of a man, albeit a slightly smaller bear to his. How such a tough bear could write so many wonderful and amazing things that touch my heart I’ll never know. His words and characters get me through some of the toughest times. Times when I don’t even think my wife and kids love me anymore and they tell me so. His words reverberate through my Jeep like I have a friend sitting beside me on my lonely hours long drives to work. His books fill holes in my life that I didn’t know would ever be filled again. Ink is one such book. With the master of his craft Ray Porter reading Jonathan’s words and the characters from Glimpse and Pine Deep coming together to help as strangers. They quickly become allies. To save every one they must use all the power at their dispose to make it through the night. If you want to find out if they succeed read Ink! If you want to find out how everything started read Glimpse and the Ghost Road Blues Trilogy.

I wish There Was Some Way I could Express How Much His Stories Mean To Me

I've been a fan of Jon's novels since Patient Zero was first released, which led me to his previously published Pine Deep trilogy.

Ink is a fantastically written story about having your most precious memories stolen from you, via the theft of tattoos. How they're stolen, and why... well, those answers can only be found by reading, or listening to Ray Porter read, this book.

Maberry revisits characters first introduced in his Pine Deep trilogy, and has crafted a story that is pretty eerie yet you just can't put it down or hit pause long enough to do much else. You NEED to know what happens next!

It is of my opinion that Ray Porter be the only person allowed to narrate what Jon writes. Period.

One of Mr Mayberry best! Can not begin to say anything but good words. The vileness of the bad guy is unlike anything in today’s horror stories.
A scary ride and a great ending.

FANTASTIC!
