All the Angst!

I cannot even express the emotions this book brought out in me. This book was an angst filled “disaster” that I could not look away from. Lia Holland and Michael Gallagher delivered a phenomenal performance in this duet audiobook, conveying every emotion and vulnerability perfectly. Five stars to Siobhan Davis for pushing me out of my comfort zone with this beautiful, emotionally charged story will all the passion and angst a reader could desire!

it was not something that I expected. the store was absolutely amazing!! would recommend this title!!

Hmmmmm🤔

Female narration was ok, let's just get that out of the way. Angie, yea she was very gullible. She allowed herself to be bullied & then to have a mom that basically tells you it's not ok to defend yourself, is asinine. Dev's reasoning for getting with her enemy was b*llsh*t, and she ate that up too. Devin acted...like father like son, he betrayed Aiden by sleeping with his girlfriend - regardless of the circumstances. Angie & Devin did belong together, they were horrible people. With friends like that, who needs enemies?! 😒 Aiden deserved better. I think that I heard Part 3 before, either in another one of the author's book, or didn't realize this was a past purchase & return. They did not deserve a HEA together. Dev was big on recounting, but not at all for taking accountability...Dev tried to justify his betrayal & damn Aiden's character when he wasn't around to defend himself. I can see why this was rated low...not a very satisfying story...the betrayers win 🙄.

Angsty and emotional!

Angsty, heart-wrenching, emotionally consuming, and full of those trademark Siobhan Davis twists.

As always, it's impossible to talk about the brilliance and pain and beauty of this story without revealing too much- so this will have to stay vague. A bit of coming of age, first love growing pains, a love triangle, and a lot of emotional angst. Three friends, once inseparable. Now separated, but a lot more than we know. Than they know. And a story told in three parts- three time periods that encapsulate the journey of these characters, their growing up and growing apart, and all the drama. And each one is an emotional rollercoaster.

There's tragedy, there's secrets, there's twists and emotional destruction, misunderstandings and deceit. SO MUCH ANGST. So much change and heartache. But also so much love. This book will wreck you HARD, but it also has healing and hope- bittersweet joy and happiness. All the beauty in the wreckage of these characters' journies.

Audio: I listened to the newly recorded audio featuring duet narration, and GASP what an experience that way. As if this story could feel more emotionally immersive- the duet narration beautifully done by Lia Holland and Michael Gallagher is fantastic. Lia is SO emotionally expressive and wonderful as our heroine Angelina. And Michael does a great job bring both men to life- I found he had an alluring tenderness to his voice but also plenty of edge, which let him embody both characters well. And their duet chemistry is great.

One of Siobhan's most emotionally resonant and wonderfully penned romances ever. And the audio is definitely an immersive and heart-hitting way to consume it.

miscommunication trope is not my thing

I liked the character development in the story and while there were many parts that really pulled on the heartstrings I found this was really slow moving. By the 3rd part I started to skip forward and almost DNF. I was not surprised by the twist. The back and forth of Angelina wanting to understand why and right when she's about to be told she's too mad and no longer wants to know was exhausting. The epilogue was satisfying and the narrators did an amazing job at bringing the characters to life.
