Corey Logan was set up. She knows Nick Season's terrible secret. Coming home from prison, all Corey wants is to be with her son. To get him back, she needs to make a good impression on the psychiatrist evaluating her. But Dr. Abe Stein doesn't believe she was framed-until his well-heeled mother fall for the charming state attorney general candidate, Nick Season. As the dogs of war are unleashed, Corey and her son run for their lives-taking her boat up the Pacific Northwest's remote Inside Passage.

Loved this thriller! Discovered the author through my daughter who knows his son and family. Corey and Abe are terrific. Looking forward to reading the next title in the trilogy.

Nick Season was evil incarnate. What a messed up character. Setting in Seattle and BC stunning!!

Wasn’t sure at first but…

I wanted to like this book. I really did. I found it because I’m heading to Alaska this spring up the inside passage from Washington and was hoping for something else. But, what the heck. I like thrillers and this was that. The writing wasn’t bad. The narration wasn’t bad. The setting was good. But something just grated on me. Maybe it was the antagonist was a bit two dimensional, but I guess that was the point. The relationship between the shrink and the protagonist was a bit shotgun and I couldn’t buy into it completely. But it was something else. The ending was good. Getting there just couldn’t come soon enough. Hard editing and a different narrator would probably have helped. Maybe the series gets better. Dunno.

Maybe?
