After the disastrous end to the Culling, Talos demands Alexander’s absolute loyalty as penance for his attempt at rebellion. Without a friend left in the Village, and with Samuel and his underground rebellion nowhere to be found, Alexander is alone under Talos' watchful eye, trapped in an impossible game where each day of indecision ends in more bodies. As Talos presses Alexander to produce evidence of the insurgency afoot in the shadows of Persepolis—an insurgency Alexander hopes will save him—time isn’t on his side.

Will he submit to Talos, biding his time and hoping for Samuel’s return while more Champions face the bloodsport of the Coliseum? Or will he recruit a new team of Champions to help him subvert Talos’ control, even if it risks destruction of the clans of the Naharaim Valley?

The thrilling second installment!!

I loved Champion and was instantly drawn in. Walker nails it again as the author and narrator, putting you right there in every scene. The seamless transition from the excitement of Champion will leave you wanting for book 3, just like me. I highly recommend this story, you will not be disappointed!!
