At a shadowy company (Karoli Robotics Corporation) owned by a Sillicon Valley billionaire, a scientist named Jim creates an AI that can fool the Turing test at the same time as his colleague, Daniel, successfully synthesizes DNA in a test tube. Daniel's attempts to reanimate dead chimps using his discovery have been unsuccessful, but when his friend Laura Bocelli is killed by being trapped inside a lab freezer, Daniel is presented with the perfect specimen. However, Laura is irreparably brain dead.

Daniel and Jim join forces to reanimate Laura using the DNA technology as well as the AI, creating a brilliant but psychopathic new Laura.

A year later a young journalist starts digging into the new CEO of Karoli Robotics Corporation, Laura Bocelli, and finds more than she bargained for. Laura will do anything to protect her secret and her plan to engineer a race of AI Cyborgs made in her image.

Featuring: Sara Alexander, John Ammirati, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Edward Bluemel, Erin Doherty, Adam Fitzgerald, Mark Holden, Ryan Forde Iosco, Sandra-mae Luykx, Stuart Milligan, Elizabeth Moynihan, Christopher Ragland, Anna Rust, Derek Siow, Robert G Slade and Wyatt Warner.

This was fantastic! It is literally like a movie for your ears. The story telling was great and the narrators were spot on.

Excellent!

Let me start off with, I am a biochemist with expertise in bioinformatics covering neural networks and there use in protein structure prediction. Putting aside some of the more outlandish jumps from scientific theories to explanations offered in the book, the overall story, pace, and delivery comes together for an incredibly decent thriller that I couldn’t help but come back too. There are some surprising twists, and the author handled shifting perspectives quite well. Overall it felt like a book heavily inspired by movies such as Terminator, Transcendence, and Eagle Eye.

What I most enjoyed was the fact this story focused around a very deep and emerging topic of AI and how it is being used to modulate many facets of our life, such as phones, laptops, big data analysis, etc.

It makes for a more compelling story/thriller which could very easily be translated to the screen with ease.

I would highly recommend it to those who are interested in a sci-fi thriller. I would be interested in seeing a follow up to the story.

A few really good voice actors, a somewhat compelling story.

This was a shot in the dark book. wasn't sure what to expect. it was awesome is all I can say. I could do without the music between chapters but overall, it was so good. The scary thing is, it isn't so far out there that it couldn't happen. maybe not now...or maybe now...but someday, it could happen. I have loved sci Fi all my life and have seen too many things that were once science fiction, come to be. You listen, and decide for yourself, if this sci Fi is possible. Either way, you will love this book. It really does need to be made into a movie.

Kept me interested

What a ride. This is well worth the time it takes to listen to it. I loved the music. Great melodic motif that makes me want to get out MIDI gear.

Be sure to listen alone with good headphones!

It's a pretty well put together little audio drama. I've been going on a bit of a spree with things like this so I'm quite pleased to see them apparently becoming more popular. Quick note, the description is a little misleading in that it makes Jim and Dan seem more like willing accomplices than I feel they were but that could just be my take

I like seeing more of these popping up
