Detective Sara Hirst has moved from London to Norfolk Police's Serious Crimes Unit. Under the brooding skies of North Norfolk, Sara faces her toughest case yet and finds that great beauty sometimes conceals great violence.

Too many secrets. Too much pain. Too many leads.

Dawn breaks as a dog-walker finds a dead body, half-naked and wrapped tightly in an old groundsheet.

Sara is first on the scene.

Who is the victim? And who will be next?

Sara must take on some of Britain's most wanted criminals if she's to find out the truth.

Contains mature themes.

The narration is plain awful. I keep putting this away and then listening again - hoping I'll get over it - and every time I get about 3 minutes in and the voice of the narrator is just killing the story. Every male voice she does sounds like a 10-year-old girl.

Sigh. #lostthatcredit

I wish I had listened to a sample first...

Not a great story. Narrator sounded childlike to me. Didn’t match the story. First book in the series was much better

It’s ok

I tried to listen to the book but the narration was.....just bad. The multiple voices she attempted were,.. very childlike. It was very hard to focus on the story.

Very weird narration

The narration made it difficult to listen to the story. There were a number of words mispronounced and the narrators attempts at different voices was really poor.

Poor narration

I thought I was listening to a child narrate the story. Given the action of the plot, it just didn’t work for me. I enjoyed the author’s first book in this series, so I am disappointed that I’ll not even finish the second.

The narrator’s voice!
