As a storm rolls in, a team of elite Navy SEALs arrives at a remote lodge for a wilderness training exercise that becomes terrifyingly real....

Xavier Rivera planned the exercise down to the smallest detail, but he didn't plan the arrival of archaeologist Audrey Kendrick—a woman he shared a passionate night with before betraying her in the worst way.

As the storm is unleashed on the historic lodge it becomes clear the training has been compromised. Trapped by weather, isolated by the remote wilderness, and silenced as communication with the world has been severed, unarmed SEALs face an unexpected and deadly foe.

Audrey and Xavier must set aside their distrust and desire and work together to save a team under fire and survive in a battle against the wild.

INTO THE STORM showcases Grant’s talent for weaving together heart-pounding adventure and touching romance. Another page-turner!” (New York Times best-selling author Laura Griffin)

I couldn’t stop listening to this book. It was the most interesting and exciting story I have listen to in a while. The narrators was amazing as well.

Amazing

Most of the story was okay, but several things seemed "hokey" and off. Audrey, the main protagonist clutched her belly WAY too many times! Also the transformation of Xavier from hard Navy seal to a guy who cries just didn't work. I did not like the frequent use of the "F" word, though with a bunch of Navy seals that part was probably realistic. Finally I could have done with put the gratuitous sex scenes. I fast forwarded through those. The story had lots of potential but it just didn't quite work....

the description of the rainforest and the archeologists' job was very detailed and made me want to seenit myself in warmer weather. Sensitivity to the native people that's come over the last decade or 2 was appreciated and the relationship between the cultures and individuals was believable. Many characters are well detailed, not just A and X. The relationship between the main characters is also complex but not in the angst whiny YA way, although X takes on too much. The action is well written, and I loved the MacGyver-ish way the SEALS and George came up with solutions! Yes, this is more of a mental suspense than action, but it pulled me along at a good pace. oh, and the sex was normal, no alpha male SM stuff, and not too much!

I actually liked this book

This book is so darn good! I was always on my toes. The “one night stand” that Xavier and Audrey had led to so much more. When Xavier threw Audrey under the bus I was angry until I heard much later why and understood why it had to happen. Being a navy seal and holding loads of secrets from loved ones have to take a toll on anyone. It takes a strong person to stand by that person but Audrey was even stronger than most having to live through a few days of brutal terror that most seals do over and over. I also loved Audrey old friend George. Even tho he gave her hell when he blamed her for Native American land being disturbed his smart wits and sneaky tactics helped seals and Audrey through all the horrors before it was too late for everyone. The tribute she pays him at the end of the book was heart warming! Rachel Grant really knocked her writing out of the park with this series and I can’t wait to hear more! Nicol and Greg read with so much love and emotion I was gripping the edge of seat through out the entire book.

Full of Action and Romance
