Adversity is guaranteed. We've all experienced it, and we will continue to experience it. Life is not about our adversity; it is about how we respond to it. Because if we have the correct perspective, we can use adversity to our advantage.

In this story, we look at a high school student in the middle of a difficult season. Like all of us in these moments, he has two choices: he can face it or he can avoid it.

He leans on the wisdom of a well-known story about how cows and bison differ in their response to storms. Cows, sensing fear, turn and run. They want to get to safety but end up stuck in the storm. Bison go into the storm. They still experience it, but endure less of the struggle and hardship.

One comment—Hope is not a plan but sometimes hope is all we have to cling to. Planning is great but hope and faith are greater than a plan because we can only plan so many things. We cannot plan the outcome will always be what we want or what we planned on.
