An excellent, comprehensive introduction to Early Buddhism. It covers both theory and practice. This is a great audiobook for anyone - from beginner to teacher - who wants to learn or teach Early Buddhism.

I so highly recommend this book.
I have the printed form and listened/read it twice in succession. This certainly will not be the last time.
It is a great reference book.
The narrator, Mr. Sean Slater, is such a pleasure to listen to.
Again, don’t miss this book if you are studying Buddhism or are well versed in it.
My thanks to all involved, JK.

The author takes you through a lot, and it's worth every step of the journey. I knew much about buddhism generally but not about Korean buddhism and it was cool hearing about their vantage point.

Wow. Very thorough and worth taking your time.

This audio book provides an excellent outline and summary of the key teachings from early Pali Suttas. It is written by a Korean monk and in a few places it relates the early teachings to modern Korean Mahayana branches of Buddhism. This is helpful for anyone interested in relating these teachings to East Asian forms of Buddhism, but it in no way detracts from the usefulness of the text for persons who are purely interested in the original teachings of the Buddha that are preserved in the Pali texts, which of course is the book's main focus. It is obvious that great care was taken in every aspect of the production of this book. The writing is clear, concise, and comprehensive, and the narrator is excellent. I highly recommend his book and would consider it to be an outstanding addition to the library of anyone interested in these early teachings from the Pali Canon.
