Kat and Scott Hamilton are dealing with the hardest of losses: the death of their only child. While Scott throws himself back into his law practice in Los Angeles, Kat is hesitant to rejoin the workplace and instead spends her days shell-shocked and confused, unable to focus.

When an unwelcome face from Kat's past in England emerges - the beautiful and imposing Sarah Cherrington - Kat's marriage is thrown into a tailspin. Now wealthy beyond anything she could have imagined as a girl, Sarah appears to have everything she could need or want. But Sarah has an agenda and she wants one more thing. Soon Kat and Scott are caught up in her devious games and power plays.

Against the backdrops of Southern California and Sussex, in spare and haunting prose, Mary McCluskey propels this domestic drama to its chilling conclusion.

The characters were fairly interesting, and the storyline started out okay, but could have been so much more thorough and exciting. The ending was nowhere near as climactic as I was hoping it to be. I was hoping for much more destruction throughout the book from the main antagonist, which never really seemed to occur.

This one kind of drug on, And on, and on

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes, listening to anything to figure out what you like and don't like always is beneficial.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The dynamic between the two women.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I felt the characters were well defined.

Could you see Intrusion being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

I think in this situation, unfortunately the movie would end up being better than the book. This is not normally the case.

Any additional comments?

I think the book was okay, but I expected a little more scandal, or twists and turns. It seemed to focus a lot on grief.

Expecting a little more

The story is very slow pace. Quite predictable though, I wouldnt have been surprise if Sarah had been responsible for Cat's son's death too... that would have been even creepier.

Quite predictable

this book was wonderful. The narration was spot on between the characters and their accents for home origin wad awesome. I was seriously surprised by the twist. I find I can usually call it, never saw this one coming! Great listen for anyone. The story makes you feel for the characters. It is so common for a lot of people so the relate ability is wonderful. The narrator has such a smooth comforting voice she just lulls you through the story. I would definitely recommend this book for someone who wants heartfelt without mushy...a little struggle and some strong, independent women main characters who lead you through a surprising plot!

overall....wonderful listen. twist out of the blue
