Majid Fakhry condenses centuries of thought surrounding philosophy and its role within Islam in this illuminating collection, a must-listen for beginners hoping to learn more about the religion. Fakhry explores the introduction of Greek philosophy into Islam around the eighth century, highlights important texts and figures in the movement, discusses the controversies surrounding philosophical thought amongst Muslims, and shows what role it has within modern Islam. I highly recommend this audiobook. It's intelligent, well organized, relatively easy to follow, although some passages are very complex and require serious concentration or following along with the actual book. This audiobook is written by Majid Fakhry who is an internationally recognized scholar in Islamic philosophy. Highly recommended.Beautifully written, nicely narrated, dense
