1333 A.D. - The lovely and educated Lady Aubrielle Grace di Witney is what is kindly termed an unmanageable woman. Her uncle, the Earl of Wrexham, has been awarded custody of his niece because her mother can no longer handle the head-strong beauty. Like a coward, the earl abdicates his duties to his most powerful knight, Sir Kenneth St. Hever with the instructions to transform her into a submissive lady. Aubrielle and Kenneth are at odds from the onset; Kenneth expects obedience and Aubrielle is less than compliant. When the battles die down and a strange, wonderful comfort settles, Kenneth comes to discover that Aubrielle is a lady with a secret. Because of this secret, her mother is murdered and Kenneth finds himself protecting Aubrielle because he wants to, not because he has been ordered to. Mysterious sects and a crazed warrior want the lady dead for different reasons. It soon becomes a test to Kenneth's cunning and knightly skills to keep his beloved Aubrielle alive.

There is not a single book by this awesome author that has disappointed me. Although I've read this book a few years ago, I absolutely loved every minute of the audio book. Tim Campbell is a excellent narrator and kept my attention throughout. Highly recommended.

the narrator was able to connect with me and to convey emotion and the portrayal of each character nicely. and was able to convert from one to another seamlessly. The stories told by Kathryn have all that I want in a romnce novel, the adventure takes me to a far away land in a disrant time. The love story aspect has my heart a flutter.....and the scenes where the couples make love are beautifully written....and are not vulgar. That is what i like the most about how she writes.....I hate being submerged in a story and them badda bing ....badda boom......I am reading a seedy nasty vulgar article for a porn show. The love scenes are so well written I never feel that way while listening to Kathryn LeVaque.

from start to finish ..... I was captivated.

In turn, the uncle turns her care to the only person, who seems to be able to prevent her escape, Sir Kenneth.
Thrown together, they begin to learn more about each other, and as various evil acts are committed by others, and unexpected situations occur, they learn to support each other.
