Growing up in religion, I believed that I was blessed as long as I was doing something productive for God, or I was forgiven as long as I begged and pleaded for forgiveness. The words "free" or "gift" never clicked. Whenever I heard the gospel, there was a contingent on it, "You are saved by grace through faith, but…" This "but" would always lead to something extra one must do not to lose this free gift. This mixed message left me confused, burnt out, and further away from God.

I highly recommend this book! I listen to it on the Audible version. I love hearing his personal stories with folks about the gospel and his stories about sharing the gospel. He also answered some questions I had in the book about the Bible. I’m definitely going to listen to it again.
