Enemies to Lovers - YAS QUEEN

I really enjoyed this. Both narrators were a treat to listen to, very lovely diction. The guy's voice was intense and phenomenal. Paired with Krys's, it was a really great treat. I am a sucker for fantasy fiction and darkness, particularly God of Death darkness. I enjoyed it very much and have just bought the follow up audiobook.

I absolutely loved the slow burn!

Such a good read! The slow-burn between Cyrus and Prue had me absolutely glued to my kindle. The plot was so good, and some of those twists came out of nowhere in the best way. But that cliffhanger? R.L. Perez really said, “suffer.” Thank goodness book two is already out because there’s no way I’d survive that wait. Once again, Perez delivers, and I’m already reaching for the next book!

Expectations too high

I really liked the ideas of this one, but the actual story was wildly underwhelming. The main relationship was so underdeveloped, characters never had the kind of emotional connection I was looking for, and the world building was an unfortunate mismash that kept falling back to pop culture ideas of hell. I’m still interested in book 2, but not going to read because there’s no way the characters will develop the depth and reflection and development I want to read from the premise. Good for a quick read or if you really loved Touch of Darkness
