Jack “Dagger” Moore is the only golfer to ever make 18 birdies in a round of golf. But after a lackluster career as a professional golfer, 50-year-old Jack is down on his luck. A series of remarkable events reunites Jack with his childhood golf coach, Billy Coker, whose timeless wisdom reinvigorates Jack’s game. Then, Billy convinces Jack to take one last shot at glory and enter the US Open.

Written in the spirit of The Legend of Bagger Vance and Golf in the Kingdom, Jack Dagger: A Links Tale delves into secrets of the game told through an unforgettable story of redemption and transformation.

Fun, easy listen for any true golf fans. Lots of ups and downs (possibly too many downs), but worth the listen for golf aficionados.

The story of Jack Dagger is entertaining for golf fans, similar to books like The Lie and Unplayable Lies, other stories of aging tour pros. Unfortunately, the recording is terrible and inconsistent. The narrator has an odd way of reading, it really sounded like a computer or AI trying to guess what sounded normal. The character voices are odd because they would sometimes sound like they were further from the mic or inside of a box at times, there were several times that sentences were read more than one time. I think the recording needs quite a bit of editing.

Decent story but terrible recording

I found this book to feel like your on flat ground and have to climb a mountain. When you get to the top you see the next taller mountain.
Until there is on last one. When you reach it’s summit you still have to make it down it’s very treacherous, but you have great friend, true love and realize how many people put you in to position to seal your own fate.
