Until recently, Jan's main job was to help run Hades' vineyard, take his shift at the gates, and spend time with his wife Meredith. It wasn't always that way though. Once, he commanded legions of soldiers to imprison and kill the enemy. While trying to reconcile his past with that of his mundane future, Jan is thrown back into a commanding role. A position he must win at all costs. If they don't, not only will the love of his life be lost, but so too will the world as they know it.

Meredith is a Dryad

Born of a tree during the end of the Dryad wars, Meredith risked it all to save her sisters. Putting her trust in a tall man with haunted eyes, Meredith must not risk everything. This time though, it isn't for her sisters, it's for everyone. She alone could cause the end of the world or be its savior. Will Jan and Meredith's love be enough to stop the furnace gate from opening, and the evil powers determined on ruling the mortal realm? Or will the Cerberus brothers fall short of what's needed to save everyone?
