Can this single dad cowboy find a second chance at love with the high school sweetheart he left behind?
Jem Young has traded the roar of the rodeo crowd for the quiet responsibilities of fatherhood. Healing from his past and fully dedicated to his two children, he’s trying to build a stable life in the small town of Coral Canyon. But watching all of his brothers find their happily-ever-after only reminds him of how lonely he is. So he makes a daring dating pact with his only other single brother: they both need dates before the next family luncheon.
Jem has only one woman on his mind: Sunny Samuelson. She was his first love, and now that he’s finally getting his life together, he’s desperate for a second chance. There’s just one problem: he’s the cowboy who stood her up last summer and never looked back.
Sunny is a dedicated nurse who moved home to help with her father’s recovery, not to reconnect with the charming cowboy who once broke her heart. When a freak accident at the local pancake house leaves Jem with a broken wrist, Sunny’s assigned as his therapy nurse. As she tends to the former championship rodeo star, she realizes her feelings haven't faded—they’ve just been waiting for a spark.
Can Sunny rope this cowboy’s heart for good, or will the demands of the Young family legacy leave her out in the cold?

I like how the author dealt with alcoholism and also the emotional issues in the book.

Much. Add that to the lack-luster story with too many characters you don’t care about and it was an early departure for me. Only suffered through less than half before I said “enough!”.
