Love right in front of you

What I liked is the fact that Jewel was willing to help out a friend despite of his past. What I disliked about the story was how the ex wife showed back up only to destroy the lives of her past lovers. Hurt people hurt people.

Jewel and Eli, a sweet story

This is yet another brilliantly layered story by the GOAT of Black Romance. From the dastardly Cecile, to the fake marriage of Eli and Jewel, this book had everything - friends to lovers, gossiping neighbors, steamy love scenes, murder, and mystery. All of Beverly Jenkins historical romance novels are amazing, and this is no different. As always, Kim Staunton did a great job with the narration.

An absolute beautiful story and a deserving story arc for Eli Grayson. I enjoyed this story, and I can't wait to dive into more of Beverly Jenkins' catalog.
