Lovely book

This is a spin-off from the book Belle. The story line was smooth and sweet. Very well written. I loved this as well

Empowering Females

I loved this book. Yes, I knew how it was going to end. But I enjoyed the characters who are believable. The protagonist is a strong, determined woman during the antebellum period. Her intelligent parents encouraged Josephine, Jojo. I will miss reading it.

Beautiful and Engaging

What a wonderful story. The story line and the narration was superb. It is great to hear a story during the Civil War time that is positive and uplifting for for Black people. It speaks to deep family roots, connection, and is heart warming. Loved it.

I love everything Beverly Jenkins!! A friend pick this author for one of our bookclub meetings. I've been hooked ever since. I'm reading my way through her list of books!! Enjoyed everyone thus far!!
