Book Two in The American Journey Series

A courageous woman. A guarded hero. A forbidden love forged by danger and grace.
When scandal drives her from home, Sarah McKuen vows to reclaim her honor—even if it means crossing the sea and entering a marriage of convenience. In the wild beauty of French Colonial New Orleans, she and her protector must navigate danger, deceit, and desire amid a world on the brink of war. From USA Today Bestselling Author Lyn Cote comes a stirring story of courage, faith, and the unyielding power of love.

Daughter of parents who once counted President Washington as a friend, Sarah McKuen had a bright future—until a scandal, not of her making, cast her outside society. Determined to begin anew, she leaves behind the thirteen United States for faraway French Colonial New Orleans. But sailing south through the pirate-ridden Caribbean is no place for an unprotected lady.

Douglas “Mac” McKuen, hired to ensure her safety, has secrets of his own. Branded by his past, he’s quick to believe the gossip surrounding his charge. Yet as they face storms, treachery, and danger on the open sea, an unlikely friendship begins to form.

In New Orleans—a city alive with Creole charm, intrigue, and temptation—Sarah and Mac must navigate a world on the edge of change. Napoleon’s rise in Europe and whispers of war reach even the Mississippi frontier, where loyalties are tested and betrayal lurks close to home.

When Sarah’s past resurfaces, threatening all she’s built, she must decide: can she trust her heart—and her life—to the one man she once vowed to see only as a friend?

A sweeping tale of courage, faith, and love from USA Today Bestselling Author Lyn Cote, Journey to Honor immerses readers in the vibrant heart of early America—where honor must be chosen and love proven.

All Of the problems and distortions come about in this novel due to The Sarah and max inability to To speak of their love for 1 another. If you've been to New Orleans so much of this comes alive I thought it was fascinating that We see the beauty and the elegance Of the French and the blacks and ugliness of Americans in power. what was Thomas Jefferson thinking putting Wilkerson in power. And despite foolish and destructive politics heroines like Sarah survived with Mac and the Wilkerson came to nothing.I

I enjoyed the story and felt like I knew the characters by the end of the book. However, I did not enjoy the AI voice reading. It would have been much more enjoyable to listen to a real human read the book. The AI version struggled at times with some words and also put in weird pauses at times.

Enjoyable Story
