Juicing your fruits and vegetables is a great way to cleanse your body and improve your energy levels. Not only can you lose excess weight but you will also help to prevent a variety of health problems by consuming freshly made juices. Wheatgrass is a popular choice; and it is packed with vitamins, minerals and amino acids to cleanse and vitalize your body. It is a natural food that is derived from the wheat plant. Juicing wheatgrass has proved to be very effective throughout the years; and it is usually applied to individuals that need to improve their digestive system and blood circulation. It also helps to prevent cancer and aids in the body's natural detoxification process. It will help to alkalize the blood and regulate the thyroid's function. It will also suppress your appetite and boost your immune system. Wheatgrass contains a lot of chlorophyll, so it will help to reduce your chance of colon cancers and other digestive problems. You can find wheatgrass in many forms. It can be purchased in either a tablet form or a powder. Many health stores will also sell freshly cut wheatgrass that you can use at home; and you can also get it in a juiced or a frozen form. Wheatgrass is very popular in most health stores and you can make a lot of delicious recipes as well. You can also combine other fruits and vegetables with wheatgrass to come up with your own healthy combinations that you can serve to the whole family. You can add honey to your juice for a somewhat sweeter taste, or you can add garlic and ginger to soften the taste. Dandelion and alfalfa are also popular choices to add to wheatgrass. You might want to get yourself a "masticating" juicer. This juicer is slightly different from normal juicers, since it can press the moisture out of the wheatgrass in a way that your normal juicer won't be able to. You can still use this juicer for all your other fruit and vegetables so it is definitely a good buy. You can use it with lettuce, herbs and spinach, to name just a few. Wheatgrass may be somewhat hard on the stomach initially, especially if you are not used to it. Try to consume no more than about 4 ounces per day to start, working your way upwards gradually. You might experience a slightly upset stomach so try to stay within your limits until your body gets used to it. Wheatgrass also has strong cleaning effects on your body so you might feel a bit nauseous the first few times, but that is normal. It should not be taken on an empty stomach though; so try to spread them out in-between your meals during the day. Wheatgrass contains a lot of chlorophyll and if taken in a juice form, it is very close in composition to our own blood, which is why you might start to experience some of its effects immediately after consumption. It is very similar in structure to our blood so it makes its uptake much easier. This is why so many people choose to consume a glass of wheatgrass in the morning; replacing their usual coffee or tea. Get many more top tips in my book!
