Magdalena is a friend to stray pets, homeless people, and wayward souls. One morning she stumbles into a mystery that leads her along a path that is strange, even for an unconventional free spirit like herself.

Tiffany’s Trash and Treasure has been broken into, but no items have been stolen. Every available candle in the second-hand shop was set ablaze and is burning when poor Tiffany entered her resale store in the early morning.
She blows them out one by one and the darkness in the shop advances as she does so. In that dim light, the intruder hiding behind a shelf makes a break for the back door. Not the most peaceful morning for Tiffany. Magdalena steps up to investigate the strange occurrence.

One person claims to have seen the possible intruder just down the street, lurking in a foggy alleyway. The only problem is that the intruder appeared to be Ebenezer Scrooge. How could that be possible? And who is the Glassman?
Magdalena begins to unravel a very unconventional mystery and it takes her down a path that exceeds all her calculations.
With each turn in the path, the secrets of love, passion and obsession unfurl like an intricate tapestry caught in a windstorm. As she nears the answers, danger waits for her like a hungry lion in hiding.
