Kabu kabu - unregistered, illegal Nigerian taxis - generally get you where you need to go. Nnedi Okorafor's Kabu Kabu, however, takes the listener to exciting, fantastic, magical, occasionally dangerous, and always imaginative locations you didn't know you needed.

This debut short-story collection by an award-winning author includes notable previously published material, a new novella cowritten with New York Times best-selling author Alan Dean Foster, six additional original stories, and a brief foreword by Whoopi Goldberg.

This is one of the best audiobooks I have had the pleasure of experiencing. As a fans of urban fantasy (Charles de Lint), this book makes me want to learn about the mythology surrounding the stories. I truly agree with the forward you truly wish the story never ends.

AMAZING

This is science fiction mixed with fantasy mixed with mystery and more. Some of the stories are familiar because of the cultural background I share with the author. Others are suprising even disturbing yet all well told. Give it a go.

Fascinating. Unexpected

NNedi Okorafor is one of those authors whose works I will read at every opportunity. This short story collection of connected narratives is a fine example of her work, though I find I slightly prefer her longer form work. Yetida Badaki's narration makes this work sing.

A wonderful short story collection

Some of these stories tied back to Nnedi's other works in lovely ways. Some stood alone in their greatness. This was genuinely a great find.

So many great stories...

Loved it , reading folklore/fairy tales with African twists was enlightening. I'm intrigued to read more . I'm a big fan of Greek gods/goddesses, nephalim, and wicken. was very fun to read the myths and 1/2truths as all myths are ...of African descent.

very fun read
