When your children are born, the first few weeks are a mixture of euphoria and sleepless "zombie-ism". Your heart is overflowing with love, thanksgiving, anxiousness, pride, fear, hope, and uncertainty. One minute you are confident and filled with hopes and dreams for everything you are going to do for your child and the next minute you are wondering what you’ve gotten yourself in to.

All of these feelings are completely normal, so don’t worry. In fact, don’t ever worry about your kids or your ability as a parent. That’s right - never. Instead of worrying, pray.

Aside from loving your kids with the same unconditional love God showers us with, praying for and with your kids is the absolute best thing you can do for them...and for yourself.

By praying for and with your kids you are acknowledging God as their maker and as the ultimate trustee or guardian of their lives. You are saying, “God, I can’t do this on my own. I need you”. You are also teaching your kids to understand that they, too, need to have a personal relationship with him.
