New York Times bestselling author Faye Kellerman delivers an electrifying crime novel of suspense as a young man’s obsessive investigation into his sister’s death draws him into the path of a sadistic serial killer.

Ben is now certain his sister was the victim of a sadistic serial killer, and refuses to let any distractions get in his way of bringing this monster to justice: not his rocky relationship with Ro, his rekindled friendship with J.D. or Detective Sam Shanks's constant warnings to butt out and let the police handle the investigation. But the ominous winds of Santa Fe are kicking up and there’s nowhere left to hide. Find out what happens as Ben, Ro, and Detective Sam Shanks come head to head with the killer in the conclusion of Killing Season.

After you read the first two books, this one is a must read or the spine tingling and yet sweet story will not be complete.

This 19 hour novel can now be purchased in 3 parts or the complete novel in one part. The protagonist is17 year old high school senior Ben Vicksburg. The setting is New Mexico. Ben's older sister Ellen was murdered three years ago and Ben is spending almost all of his time hunting for the killer. Sometimes he is helped by Detective Sam Shanks, but Shanks theory of the case is very different from Ben's who believes his sister was murdered by a serial killer. Ben's classmate and ex-girlfriend nicknamed Ro helps him develop his theory and find suspects. Killing Season is a superb suspense mystery which appears to me to target the YA market. The main characters are well developed and very likable.

Killing Season by Faye Kellerman easily earns 5 stars. Kellerman has bee writing suspense mystery police procedural novels including the Peter Decker/Rina Lazarus 24 book series for a long time. Charlie Thurston narrates extremely well.

Part 3 is a great finish to the novel!

The premise of this story got out of hand for me a bit: off-the-charts brilliant teens persist alone in catching evil killer, humbling police, parents and any other authority!

Then I just settled down and allowed myself to have the wicked fun offered here, and just barrelled along, enjoying being with these larger-than-life characters. I don't know if this novel is categorized as YA, but I think it works for anyone who likes a fast-paced procedural. Besides, a person in one of the other stages of life (adult, middle age and "she's no baby") who doesn't read YA selections is missing out, big -time!

Charlie Thurston gave every character a unique and consistent voice, and was a champion in this reading!

I want to know what happens to this fine group of characters. Ben, Ro and Lily would make a fine team of detectives, and they already have brains, romance, amd a zillion fans!

Faye Kellerman has out done herself. The 3rd and final installment of Killing Season had me waiting until midnight for it's release.

The intensity and drama of teenagers trying to figure romance and murder and life out together is magic! I was sorry the story ended--I am pretty attached to the characters....

Narrator was good.

The three separate release dates was painful--I like one book, one release date. I am going to devour it in a matter of hours any way--don't make me wait for it!

Oh the unexpected Finish!!
