In the second book of The Watcher Chronicles series, Jess finally learns where her father has been since the Tear first opened. While Mason tries to keep his distance from her, Jess continues to search for the other vessels with Chandler by her side.

This series is intended for a mature audience. Recommended for ages 17 and older due to sexual situations and adult themes.

If I were to use the movie rating system, I would rate this series an R.

S. J. West writes a great story - no doubt about it!! Her characters feel real, their personalities, their mannerisms - she does a great job! I also like her plots and story flow. However, and this is solely on me, I almost quit listening to this book. Why? Because it's a romance novel and I can personally do without all of the mush and gush - seriously. But it's just me and my personal likes. I would much rather have the action, the moving forward with the problem solving - and it's there - but this book has a serious focus on the romance part of this story - too much for my taste. In having said that, I am going to move forward to Book 3 in The Watcher Chronicles because they are good books and I have a vested interest in finding out how this story ends! That's what I mean when I say she is a great story teller - the main plot will hook you and reel you in. And if you are a lover of romance novels, then you will enjoy these stories even more!!!

Great Romance Novel

I don't remember buying or downloading this book but it is amazing. I listen to book 1 and fell in love with the characters and story right away. Of course it ends on a cliff-hanger but luckily and without any explanation books 2,3 & 4 are also in my library. I listened to them for 4 days straight while driving, sitting in my desk and lying around the house instead of watching TV. I'm hooked and my next steps are to find more books from this author. I've already heard there are more books in this series and I'll buy them tonight. Thank you SJ West.

Wow!!! Where did this come from?

I loved book one and couldn’t wait to dive into this one. The further I got into it the more I wanted it to be over. I had resigned myself to the fact that I would not be getting books 3 or 4. The reasons for this decision was because or Jesse’s instability. She gives me whiplash. From “I’m in love with Mason and he’s the one my man I can ever love” to Mason asking if she’d say yes if he asked her to marry him and her being uncertain that she would. Then there’s he desire to “take him” and how she toys with him knowing dang good and well that she’s not ready for that because of the abuse in her past. I also think that a man like Mason, such a gentleman and a man concerned with pleasing God would want to marry her before bedding her. Jesse just seems really immature when it comes to her relationship with Mason, I suppose that’s because he’s the only guy she’s ever dated.
If it weren’t for Fazen’s disappearance I wouldn’t continue this series but I need to know that she comes back safely and find happiness again after John Austin’s death, which was a huge shocked to say the least.
Once again I’ll say Brittany Pressley did a fantastic job on delivering this story. I’m just amazed at her ability to make each character sound different and be individual.
Alas on to book three…

Wow this author is not afraid to throw curveballs. Totally didn’t expect the turn of events. There are now 3 archangel bound souls including Jess and they were able to see the 4th but don’t know where she is yet. I can’t say enough how interesting this story is. If you are looking for steam then you will be very disappointed. So far in books one and two it’s only kissing. That’s it. Again I gave 4 stars because of the lack of steam and just like book one there are some slow parts. I understand that Jess had a traumatic past but some of her hang ups and immaturity at now 22 years old was getting a little old for me. It’s lucky that the storyline is so interesting.

Book 2 had me gutted 😲😧🤭😳
