Critic reviews

"Filmed 70 years ago in stark black and white, King Kong still holds the force of its raw simplicity. More myth than monster, Kong suffers the fate of the classic tragic hero, destroyed by his own nobility. High-tech civilization overwhelms his primitive power. Beauty kills the beast." (Jack Williamson)

I read this at eight years old and, like then, the early parts on the island are still my favorite.

What fun

The story is classic and great, but the end interviews are the best part in my opinion. Enjoyed it

The end bits, after the story are worth the listen alone

The striking difference from the films is how much more sympathetically the humans are portrayed.

Familiar, But Distinct

To be honest the story is alot simpler than I remembered. The love story between the two humans is rushed and those characters are all mediocre at best. Once Kong arrives though it's amazing. It's like a whole another book breaks into this Love Boat story and I loved it!!

To Be Honest

A wonderful book that I found to be developmental and maturative for a young man coming of age such as myself. I found this book to be entertaining and nicely written. I found great relation with the protagonist and I further highly recommend this book.

A great book
