Nix and Synne

Definitely a wild, intense, action packed, emotional, and passionate ride to go on. Nix is drowning in grief and in walks a fierce, sassy, motorcycle riding beauty, Synne. His world is turned upside down. Their connection is instant and their chemistry is palpable. Nix and Synne are perfect for one another but with all the chaos surrounding them will they last?
Betty Shreffler never ceases to amaze me. She certainly knows how to capture your attention from the beginning, keep you on the edge of your seat, and leave you smiling at end. I absolutely loved this book.
Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott were amazing narrators. I loved listening to them.

Entertaining

This is an entertaining MC spicy romance. If you don’t like spice you either have to fast forward a bit or just pass on this book. This has action and not a lot of winy angsty moments from main characters and most importantly not a bunch of stupid over reactions. I really recommend reading the two previous books in order to fully appreciate everybody’s struggles. Each book has its own main couple but the central plot/enemies carries through each book. Each book is spicy and has dark elements but I would not classify it as dark. There is a happy ending for each couple. I don’t think the books have trigger warnings but if you have triggers around talk of rape or rape attempts, violence, abuse, drug use, alcohol, death or loss of a loved one please read responsibly. I can’t recall too much detail on some of those topics being on page in detail but some is on page and I would hate for someone to have a bad experience. Happy reading!

My Thoughts on King of Kings

This was an intense book but in the best of ways. From the very beginning, it tugged at my heart and yet kept me utterly hooked.

Nix is tortured by the murder of the woman he loved but it was clear that despite some of the ways he behaved when Synne showed up and his revenge plans and actions he is still ultimately a good guy. I thought Betty Shreffler did a good job with him. He was well written and really turned out to be very likable.

Synne was fantastic and a total bada**. She was different from the previous leading ladies in this series but in just the way she really needed to be for this story and this couple to work. She needed to be different then the women that came before in Nix’s life. She was that and so much more.

There was a level of suspense in this story I liked. The issues with the rival MC added that element where you wondered what was coming next and worried about someone getting hurt. It kind of kept me on edge in an exciting way.

When paired with the audio it was an even experience. Both Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott did an amazing job and I felt were really well suited for these characters.

This is a must-read for Betty Shreffler fans but also for anyone who likes a good MC romance.
