The future of the Ashaiian haven, the newly founded Kingdom of Cael, is anything but secured. Rezkin must seek recognition from the King of Gendishen if his people are to maintain possession of their island home and the enchanted secret it contains.

In an unexpected twist, events overtake Rezkin, and he is thrust into a frustrating adventure to seek a worthless prize. He finds that his carefully constructed reputation as an indomitable foe has consequences as others seek to use his strengths for their own gain. Meanwhile, friends are confronted with too many truths, power and strength might be more than some desire, loyalties and friendships are tested, and at least one of Rezkin’s friends might be headed for a miserable demise.

I don’t understand why the negative comments. It’s just as good as previous 3. Can’t wait for #5.

Don’t believe the negative comments

I don’t like it one bit! Flighty Frisha is starting to get on my nerves! He’s done EVERYTHING FOR HER. Now I don’t WANT her to get Rezkin. SHE doesn’t deserve HIM!!

Tieran snaking Rezkin?!?!

Story was meh. It just seemed like a wild goose chase more than anything else.

Frisha/Malcious were whiney as hell throughout the book. Honestly if they were just killed off in the third book, this book would have been the better for it. I honestly have no clue why anyone would want to read about those characters.
Skip all the parts with Frisha and Malcious, then the story probably moves up to a 4/5.

Performance was spot on. I'd even go so far as to say Nick did so well on the narration that I hate Frisha and Malcious even more because of it. Congrats, that is true workmanship.

Fine for a time waster; Not the series it once was

Kel is a woman and knows how woman's emotions and expectations are all over the place. Guys are easy and just think in one direction. I currently hate Frisha and Tearien. She is one of the worst women out there. Break your heart, jump to your friend, expect things of you just because she somehow thinks she knows better than anyone while she hasn't contributed anything except being suspicious of her betrothed and him being totally honest with her and she and her new courtship is just sick since they take advantage of how he was raised knowing he wouldn't supposedly care. Most guys would have kicked the b_____ to the curb and my cousin and I would have a little talk. I truly hope those two characters have a painful death. If they survive the story this is definitely a tragedy which might be the end result. Oh its quit some time since this book come out and she has started a new series. Maybe this was the last book if so how lame and I won't buy any more of her books.

I'm mad but I still want to read the next book!
