Luke Anderson had exactly two things on his mind: Getting the f--k out of Alhouette, Louisiana, and opening his own bike shop. But when he meets sweet little Tawny Mitchell at a bonfire by the lake, things get so hot, he's almost tempted to stay in town a while longer.

Almost.

Tawny Mitchell has her life perfectly planned now that she's graduated college. Become a school nurse, form some roots in a small town and, eventually, find a kind, hard-working man to start a family with. The type of loving, close-knit family she never had growing up. But when her best friend convinces her to go to a party and let her hair down, just this once, she never dreams that the consequences of that steamy summer night will change everything....

This was my first time with this Author. This was an enjoyable listen that kept me engaged. Characters were likable, and story flowed well. There were even funny parts. This was also my first time listening to this narrator. Sophie Daniels was also enjoyable to listen to. Her portrayals of the characters was very good. You could feel the various emotions of each character.

The characters in this book were down to earth, and the sub characters added a bit of comedic moments. Luke was adorably sweet, despite Tawny being a head strong southern women. At times I felt like Tawny protested too much but Luke worked hard to win her over and it made the story all the better. The writing was true to the characters, but at times felt the dialogue didn’t flow as natural as other moments. The narration was great, Sophie Daniels did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. If you’re interested in sweet surprise baby romances, I would definitely recommend.

Both the author and narrator were new to me, and I found myself enjoying this listen. Typically I do not listen to many new-adult books, but this one pulled me in. I thought the story was well written and the narrator was age appropriate and did a good job with the various characters. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review.

Graduating college with her nursing degree, Tawny is on her way to her dream life. Luke is one race away from reaching his dream of opening his bike shop. Little do these two know their chance meeting will change their lives forever. An unexpected pregnancy makes the two reevaluate their life dreams and what their future will be. The question is will the two have the same ideas? With Luke, he has some definite ideas of what should happen. Being a child from the foster care system, but lucky enough to be adopted by wonderful parents, Luke knows what he wants when he finds out about the baby. Tawny is sure she can make it in her own, despite her love for Luke. Christine Bell has written a well balanced new adult story with lots of feels. Its is easy to become invested with this couple, and you can't help but root for that happy ending. The supporting characters are key, especially Luke's mom. Her advice and warm heart make you feel right at home and comfortable with her influence throughout the story. I also loved the support that Suzette and Rex gave both Luke and Tawny. They gave some depth and humor through the book.

My first listen to Sophie Daniels, I found her voice to be perfectly suited for this genre. New adult is particular and needs a youthful voice but not teenage sounding. I found Daniels to have an age appropriate voice with distinctive sounding genders. She has good pacing and gave an enjoyable performance.

Feel good story
