Island Girl and Scuba Instructor Kealani “Kea” Kapule is about to begin her two weeks of Naval Reserve Duty. When she reports in, her initial contact with her division commander raises unusual questions about her diving qualifications and experiences. The commander focused on what was the deepest she had ever been and what she experienced during that dive.
Kealani soon discovers that experience is the reason for her selection to take part in a research program of extreme interest to the highest levels of the military and national civilian authorities, and that will last longer than expected. As she continues in-processing, she soon discovers she has already been introduced to her immediate supervisor.
A series of events leads Kea and the rest of the team on an adventure of discovery unlike anything that has ever been undertaken.
