When private investigator Jack Winters finds a note dropped by a beautiful woman with tales of theft, embezzlement, and violent threats, he can’t resist the urge to do what he does best – to help. The woman has made a deal to meet a man named Mike Devonshire at a seedy motel called the Paisano Inn. There she plans to return some documents that were stolen from him – documents that could lead Mike to jail if they fell into the hands of the police. Jack comes up with a plan to get her off the hook. He’s going to steal the documents back from Mike, but things go horribly wrong on that dark night and a murder occurs. Now Jack races to unearth the truth before the cops discover his role in that night’s events. And the most mysterious piece of the puzzle – the one that Jack desperately needs to uncover before time runs out - is the lady in the red dress…who stood in the shadows of the motel…watching…
