In a very uncharacteristic attempt at a little revenge, a little vindication, Lily splurges on a first-class plane ticket…using her soon-to-be-ex-husband’s credit card. If he insists that she travel to him, when he’s the one who filed, the one who cheated, then the least he can do is pay for her to fly in comfort.

But Lily soon learns, the bigger seats and ample leg room aren’t the only things that are better beyond that classing curtain. The company’s more than worth every extra cent.

Trevor Kinkade always flies first-class…on his private jet. But the one time he finds himself aboard a commercial flight, he also finds Lily.

Not that he had to look very hard; she’s sitting right beside him.

They’re nothing alike, from two very different worlds, except for one huge, perhaps serendipitous, similarity—they’re in the same place, where neither have ever been before, at the same time—because of two, perfectly aligned off-chances.

Or, could it be the chance for both of them to find what they’ve always wanted?

Originally featured, in part, in Pick Your Pleasure, this is Laid Over, Lily and Trevor’s story in its entirety, with refurbished scenes, new scenes, and of course…its HEA.

Trevor Kinkade is enamored with Lily the first time he saw her. He thought she was sweet, funny. He never laughed so much with a woman before. Most women pretend to be the perfect person.
This was her first time flying on a plane. she decided to fly first class by using her cheating husband's credit card. Sitting next her her was this handsome hunk of a man.
Lily is sweet, naive, trusting. Mechanical problems with the plane, caused a layover. She needed to get to her destination the next morning.
Trevor wants to know her better, he decides to help her and arranged to drive there.
Diane Lyon and Jack Rider are new narrators for me. They were very good.
I enjoyed listening to this delightful story. It is fun, uplifting, enjoyable.

short and sweet

On her way to her day in court, Lily finds herself in a tough spot as her flight is delayed. She has to make it on time to try and prevent her soon-to-be ex from taking everything from her. Trevor is sitting next to her. This gorgeous man is taken with her and is going to do what he can to help her out. What Lily gets though is much more than a good settlement. This insta-love quick listen is easy and fun. Trevor is quite the man, coming to her aid and knowing exactly what she needs. He is incredibly patient and his protectiveness is impossible to not love. Lily proves just how resilient she is. I would love to get a full story of these two, but SE Hall definitely packs a lot into this "quickie"!

To tell us this story, we have Diana Lyon and Jack Rider. Both are new to me, and I enjoyed both of their voices. Lyon is wonderful, finds the essence of Lily and brings it full force in her performance. Definitely hurt, and angry with her ex, but the attraction to Trevor is giving her confidence, all heard in the inflections. Rider is our warm, protective Trevor. He swoops in and fills our heart with the nuances he uses in his voice. I enjoyed their narration and will be watching for more from them.

Fun, quick, listen!

It's short. It's easy to listen to and/or fail to listen to attentively. It's just a little boring and unexceptional. I don't hate it. I just also didn't really get into it. The storyline felt trite and overdone. I was hoping for a little bit of something different or unexpected or funny or spicy. It was honestly kind of bland for me, and it didn't really evoke any emotions. The characters were very unmemorable. It maybe just wasn't my cup of tea, but I'm an avid reader (400-500 books per year), which may make me a harsher critic.

It's okay
