A woman abandoned, a Highlander starting a revolution.

When Lady Rosamond de Warenne is abandoned by her father in a remote cave, she doesn’t believe her fate could get any worse—until she’s kidnapped by a fearsome Highlander. Laird Tierney MacDougall, recently released from imprisonment by the English, is bent on revenge, starting with marrying the daughter of his tormenter. A union forged from vengeance is doomed to fail—or is it?

Very good story, but horrible narration/ performance. I almost couldn't finish the set. (3 book series)

poor performance

It was a sad start for all the Scottish prisoners trapped in the Tower of England in squalor conditions. But after all, one Scottish prisoner, the Protagonist, is released who goes forth to The Bruce in Scotland, while the Scottish Warrior’s father gave his word to the English King.and ultimately died of a heart ailment.

Good story!

The beginning was good if it only kept going. There was basically no story, no strong plot. 90% was explaining the mc’s feelings about each other which a reader can understand with a few words here and there but good grief it just blathered on and on. Then a few words on his prison sentence, her father’s treachery, the kings stance, his battle. I was waiting for something, anything to happen and then nothing. When you pay for an audible book, we are paying 2 fold. The story and the narrator. If the story is somewhat off the narrator can make it so much better BUT when the narrator is not good…. This narrator was, I’m sorry, Awful. I cringed every time he portrayed the female voice and truthfully wasn’t that good at doing the male voice either. With over 180 audible books under my belt I can honestly say that I will not put myself under self torture by listening to this narrator again. I was going to give Eliza Knight another book in this series but no thank you, I will definitely pass.

An empty story
